So, I didn't quite catch if you liked the short-shift kit or not?

oh, i like it now... at first i was a little disapointed, and missed more shifts than oem, but there is a re-learning curve with it.. once you learn how to shift it again, it is just fine... i'd do it again with another nv5600 no questions asked... i just wish it were cheaper [although i got a pretty good price on it from BD with some promotion they were having at the time]

4-5 shift miss??? Ive never had that issue, in 21k miles???.. BTW get teh NV5600 if you can.. but the G56 will work too..

Several times I have had the NV5600 pop right over into R when trying for 5th. This only happens if I'm trying to shift quick. Makes a horrendous grinding that chills me to the bone!

But that is the driver, not the transmission. You are going over too far and catching the reverse gate instead of 5 and 6. I will agree, they should have a stronger spring in the reverse gate.

Most of the time I get resistance, but very occasionally I don't get any and it goes over VERY easily.

Most people thought I was crazy for getting a 6-speed. I enjoy it quite a bit. No problems with it so far. With the type of work I do with my truck I think it is the perfect application. That is just me though!
