79k Serviced it Friday, drove home shut it down and could smell fuel. Did a quick walk around and check saw nothing. Pulled the dipstick and it was waaaay overfull. Got it all apart at the shop now, according to my scanner numbers 1,3,4 were weak and 5 was bad so I am doing all six. I had all six replaced once by the dealer at appx 32k, I found the #5 hold down completely loose when taking the injectors out, the dealer did not even screw one single bolt for the valve cover in when I picked the truck up after they did the injectors. I could smell oil on my way back to the shop so when I got back I popped the hood to find the valve cover lying off to the side and oil everywhere. I almost puked when Cummins told me how much the remand injectors were. 420.99 each my cost!! Thats at my shop discount.

I was thinking of where to go for injectors all day and knew there was someone that most people liked here but could not remember who it was.

Thanks Mark!!

6 Bosch remans, 6 new injector tubes, $2,568.13. Trucks runs excellent, put about 50 miles on it and the engine oil is still clean. Usually goes black instantly.

That's not much of a discount, time to go online and buy injectors for half that price. I would also be looking for another shop to do my repair work, that's after they pay to have my engine compartment detailed out.

I got the Bosch injectors for $357.00 each. I could not have the truck down for several weeks waiting for injectors. The dealer only did warranty work, no way would I pay them to touch my truck.

Could it be that the diesel cleaned the carbon out and you've got clean metal for awhile?

I remember the bad old days of dumping a quart of kerosene into the engine and driving 15min home to do an oil change, knowing the kerosene would be cleaning all the grime off of everything. Man I can't believe the things I did based on rumor, wives' tales and just plain-ole stupid logic

Someone please explain how they can have a list price for New injectors if they are not New? I also see that they also have reman injectors listed for a lower price so either they have new injectors and reman injectors or what they put out is on there product price list is False aka a Lie.
