They have the fitting there on all of the new trucks, and there are a few threads that show what you need to be looking for. Looking just behind the front ujoint on the double cardan coming from the xfer case to the front diff, if you rotate the driveshaft, you will be able to see a small circular plate with a hole/spingloadedball in the middle. Get a grease gun w/ needle attachment and get to work. Incidentally I always seem to break the needle each time I do this since it is hard to snake the grease gun into position.

2 years now and still cant find it, and I look EVERY time I'm under the truck.
Never seen anything close to what you described. But I'll keep looking for as long as I own the truck.

Somebody else originally posted this photo, but here it is again. The location is tough to find (it helps to jack up a front wheel and rotate the tire/driveshaft).

I have been greasing this myself since I got the truck...I had taken it in to have the dealer change the oil(I was short on time) and I asked the dealer to make sure they greased that. I had to actually get under the truck and show them where it was. They had no idea that it was there. No wonder I do most of my own maintenance.

I think it came in in 2005 or later. I know 04.5 don't have it. A way to check if you have it is if you've got the sticker under your hood. My dads 07.5 has it but my 04.5 doesn't. But it's never been greased on his truck because the dealer said theres nothing to grease on the truck at all

The picture makes it look easier to see then it actually is. It is REALLY hard to see, but it is there if you have the sticker. As said above, jack up one front wheel and slowly rotate while looking up into the joint. Cleaning away any dirt helps also. It is just a small, shallow, cone shaped depression in the metal.

I'll give that a try on friday when I get my truck out of storage. I also have a new LED Mag lite that is bright as h***. I will give it another shot.

I could not find mine either - i've looked many times. Guess i'll try again next time - its never been done in 45,000 miles.... why didn't they make it sealed like the rest or just put a fitting on it??? Stupid engineers...

as mentioned earlier, get the needle vs the other type(tappered end) grease fitting. that thing was soooo aggrevating .

the needle(Plews Lubrimatic #05-037) worked like a charm. got it from oreillys
