lower ball joint greese fittings

When replacing the sealed lower ball joints on a 2006 with replacement greesable joints, will the axle shafts clear the greese fittings? They look very close.

No they wont. I even got a 90 grease fitting and it was still hitting the u-joint. I greased the ball joint and then removed the zerk and installed the plug that came with it. You can grease in the future, but it's not easy getting the plug and grease fitting swapped out.

Mine clear! Maybe it has to do with the brand of ball joints that are used? It's been awhile since I replaced mine, but IIRC they were AC/Delco brand.
