Lift pump install

I just ordered a lift pump from Geno's to put in the truck.
I was getting long starts and the old one was not pumping tap on it then it runs.

So what are the tricks or any short cuts to install the factory type of lift pump on the filter barrel.

Looks like a few screws and hose with pre filter?

Very easy to change. Remove the fender liner (easy to remove) and it will be easier to reach the pump over the wheel. Should take only minutes to change out the pump.

Papaduck hit the nail on the head about removing the inner fender. Another good point is to make sure that you drawl the bolts back in even or risk pinching the o ring. Not a hard fix at all.

The quick disconnect may require both hands. Press the tabs on the disconnect and squeze and with the other hand pull it apart. You can put a wire tie or twist tie around the tabs and pull it up tight to hold the tabs in.

It may be easier to get at the disconnect from under the vehicle.

You will get a small amount of fuel out of the upper line and pump. The disconnect is above the tank so the flow will stop.
