Keeps on going!
I notice that when I chomp on the go pedal from slower speeds or stopped, that the truck continues to accelerate for a half second or so after I have quickly removed my foot from the accelerater. Is this a normal function of the diesel or turbo? or is it more to do with the drive by wire throttle technology?

RAMDAN03 would be correct. I get the same thing as well. I remember seeing a thread on the subject some time ago where someone, obviously fairly knowledgeable, broke the process down and explained what was going on when that happened. Seems that was a topic of interest back when these new trucks came out. Perfectly normal though. I spent a few minutes looking for that thread for you but couldn't find it. Oh well, maybe it was on a different forum that I saw it (probably the pay-per-view site
).
).
Thanks AK and Ramdan,
I pretty much thought it might be normal but let me say it caused quite a bit of surprise and darn near some embarrasment on my part when I first noticed it ( going in reverse with a hot head and a heavy foot) . hehehe Hey I can't get the smiley's to work?
later.

Drive by wire is a weird beast sometimes. I can get my truck to slow down on cruise if I modulate the fuel just a bit. My Passat is the same, as well as the old Powerstroke I had. Some of this phenomenon is caused by the high fuel pressure of the common rail, the drive by wire, emission compliance, turbo bleed off, and what you had for dinner..
(j/k). Once you get used to it you'll forget about it . HTH

Found out about this when I first stuck my foot into it in second gear. Wound up to 3400 before it backed off. Thought I might have done some damage as I had exceeded the red line. Still running fine though.

I noticed this as well. We had a snow storm here last month. Me and my son were tooling around on the slippery streets( i know, not too smart...but i`ve never been accused of that
) WE got a kick out of how when i was spinning my tires, and took my foot off the fuel peddle, the tires would still spin for a second.
