K&N Oil Filter Information

Has anyone used the K&N Oil Filters - I looked at them at Advanced Auto yesterday the filters sound very strong based on the box I was wondering what the actual performance is like? Are they okay for the CTDs? They are about $14 each. Thanks

Fleet Guard Stratapour are like $9. You are paying for alot of blue sky for a K&N oil filter.

x2 on the Fleetguard. They are approved and reccomended by Cummins. Save your cash and get a proven reliable filter.

Either that or go with a Amsoil dropin.
From what Iv read and heard, the K&N doesnt do that good of a job on preventing dirt in the intake.
Amsoil also has a BHAF.

Oil filter, not air filter

I agree with the others, get the Fleetguard Stratapore (synthetic media). Great flow rate, great filtration, and built like a tank.

I've used mostly K&N oil filters and havn't had a problem yet (that I know of). The reason I like them is my local parts store sells them (they don't sell the Fleetguard or I would buy those) and the K&N has a nut welded to the bottom which makes real easy to remove from the bottom of the truck.
