Additional timing directions & information

I was curious if anyone had any additional information and links regarding timing directions other than what's on dodgeram.com.

The Haynes manual has a good write-up but its really about the same as the Dodgeram site. What specific questions were you wondering about?

The dodgeram instructions are excellent. About the only thing they don't emphasize enough is the importance of having the gear and shaft spotlessly clean before reinstalling. I use electronic cleaner because it leaves no residue.

So let me get this right. Find TDC with the barring tool and the dial indicator on top of the #1 DV. Then pull the gear off of the shaft under the oil filler elbow on the front of the timing case cover. Rotate engine till dial indicator changes by the # of degrees necessary to have 16.5* then re-install gear? Am I understanding correctly? I haven't checked the Haynes manual but thats a good idea.
