Just Started Smoking
Just Started Smoking
"03" 2500 with 160,000 miles maintained very well just started smoking (i believe not oil) both at idle and while on the road. Any ideas thoughts. Nothing done to engine except normal oil and filter change and fuel filter change. Mileage is mainly highway and I am very light footed, though for the first 100,000 miles did a lot of pulling.
Thanks,
Carl

May have an injector on the way out.
Have you checked your turbo for any seals leaking? Check for play on the shaft.
Any overheating issues? If you don't think it is oil it can possibly be coolant...

Do you have boost gauges? Does boost look low?
If it does or you don not have a gauges then I would check your hoses from turbo to inter-cooler and intercooler to intake..
If it has a boost leak you would see some smoke..

No boost gauges. A little slow starting, and idle is not as smooth as before. Fuel mileage is still good and power also seems good. Smoke appears dark, oil level is good. No over heat issues.
