This vibration happens at 65-70 mph. The vibration comes and goes. It is not constant. I have yet to rebalance my tires yet. Do you guys think it could be U-Joints or wheel bearings?

 

I would start with rebalance and rotate, 35X12.50-18 Toyo Open Country M/Ts If out of balance would definitely give you a vibration.

 

Ive always had the same thing. What kills me is I had a 97 Chevy 4x4 2500 that did the same exact thing. I replaced all kinds of parts hoping to find it...no luck. I heard its the torque conveters on the Chevys. Now the Dodges I dont know yet but mine feels like the pinion angle is off or a u-joint is going bad. Were not the only ones though, I have posted about this before and got quite a few responses.

 

Thats just the the thing i put my stock 265s on and now the truck feels completely diffrent. I hate to put all the blame on the tires but if a rebalance dosent take care of it ill throw the 35s back on for winter.

 

Update!! I only notice the vibration during coasting or light throttle at highway speeds and during braking from 20 mph or below. The ball joints and wheel bearings seem to be fine. The thing that gets me is that it dosent happen all the time. Im really lost at this point!

 

I have the same problem. It only happens at 70 mph. It's a buzzing noise. I don't think it's the tires because I brought my truck up to 75 and put it in neutral. I watched the speedo go from 75 to 65 and the truck was as smooth as glass. I put it back in drive and the buzzing was back at 70. It's not the front axle or shaft because I have dynatrac free spin hubs. It has to be something in the tansmission like the torque converter or the rear drive shaft. I have a mild lift (Carli performance 2.O) and I run BF Goodrich All Ter. T/As load range E 285/70/17.

 

Well i fixed it. It was the rear driveshaft u-joint. The funny thing was that i would've never noticed the joint was bad because it was tight while i checked it on the truck. So i decided to just take the rear driveshaft out and have it balanced and thats when i noticed that the u-joint wouldnt move at all in one direction. Got it all done this evening and now the truck rides like a caddy!!
