i am going to be making my own intake horn and i wont be doing all of it at once for lack of a welder. i was wondering if i pull the stock horn off and use it as a template for cutting my plate if the gasket is reusable? thanks

I've re-used it... it's a wire mesh. They are not that expensive... 5 bucks, maybe.

I would go ahead a get a aftermarket reinforced gaskit. The stock one may tear while removing the manifold.

There are 2 gasket types available. A dark orange type intake gasket which has a sticky side to it. There is also a metal impregnated (gray-silver) one that is the better of the two and are commonly found on all of our trucks. They can both break, but the gray-silver is the most forgiving in that it is a bit flexable and does not break as often.

I had the orange fiber gaskets and they tore when removing the original horn. Get the newer metal style when replacing.
