Injector warranty???

My truck 16 months ago had some new injectors installed not all 3 or 4 [it was my friends truck then]and a lift pump installed. Now some rough running brings me back to dealer to find out some more injectors are bad. What do i say to get the dealer to replace all 6? Instead of hacking every time.

If you aren't paying for it and the dealer is willing, I would absoutley have them replace them all. Also, make sure to check where you are getting your fuel from, been some discussions about bad fuel taking the injectors out.

IIRC they are covered by the Cummins 5/100 warranty.

Actually if you did not transfer the warranty within 30 days of purchase (you said it was your buddies truck before) it is 5yr/100K...

The 7yr/100K has a $100 deductible from years 5 to 7...

The 7yr/70k Powertrain warranty is void if not transfered to the second owner, accoring to their warranty book.

I know that up to 2005 the trucks had the 7/70 Dodge warranty and the 2006 up have a 3/36 Dodge warranty but I though the Cummins warranty was only for 5/100. So your saying the 2005 and older have a 7/100 Cummins warranty? I wonder why the 2006 up only have a 5/100 warranty?

They don't.On engine and fuel system I think its also 7/100 with $100 deductable after year 5. The dealer dosen't always have the say so on how to perform a repair like 6 injectors or 3 if three CHECK GOOD.Of course WE'D like ALL six but due to cost and IF they others check good then 3 it is.

Just to keep the terms correct Cummins does not provide a warranty to us. It is the Chrysler Diesel Engine Warranty. Which as I stated before is 7/100 with years 5-7 having a $100 deductible.

If you look at your warranty contract (the book that came with your truck) it outlines the various warranties.

It can be pretty complicated because of all the warranties that come with the vehicle.

My 2005 has..

12 Month 12k bumper to bumper... including wear items (belts, hoses, brake pads, etc.)
3yr/36k Bumper to Bumper... excluding wear items
7yr/70k Powertrain... $100 deductible... excludes Diesel Engine
7yr/100k Diesel engine... 1st and 2nd owner when transfered, yrs 5-7 $100 deduct. (5/100k when not trans. for 2nd and 3rd owners)

Than the various corrosion and emmissions warranties..

I looked again at my 2006 warranty book and on page 8 and it states it has a 5/100,000 on the Cummins engine. No where does it say it has a $100.00 deductible. Though I did get an extended warranty to cover it for 7/100,000.
As I said before I wonder why they dropped the Cummins engine warranty from 7/100,000 in 2005 to 5/100,000 on 2006 trucks.

I would think that it was a cost decision. They also dropped the 7/70k powertrain on the trans to the rear end in 06. That was 1 major reason I bought a leftover 05 and not a 06 in Feb of 06.
