Re:Injector Pump

That's right, the VP-44 is no more.

The injection pump is a simple high-pressure pump that keeps a constant pressure fed to all the injectors simultaneously. It does not perform fuel injection duties. This is now done by new electrically-controlled injectors which can deliver 3 injection pulses at a time: 1 to start combustion, 1 main combustion pulse and an afterpulse for emissions reasons.
