INjector problem question...

I was checking my oil yesterday and noticed that it is a little over full. The oil also looks like it wsa just changed still after 2 weeks from my oil change. I run Delo 400. When I change the oil, I just add the entire 3 gallons instead of 2.?? to get it right on the mark. Dip stick registers about 1/4-1/2" above full. I drive approximately 75 miles a day also. My truck does not smoke, so maybe that is why it is not black yet.

If diesel were in the oil, would the smell be prevalent, like no way to mistake it? Just curious.

you may have not been perfectly level. usually it is WAY over the top and pouring out of the breather. probably not to worry. but always a good idea to keep an eye on it.

Only way I can get an accurate oil level reading is having the truck on level ground and letting it sit for at least 30 minutes before checking.

okay, I only had let it sit for about 15 mins yesterday, but I know what diesle smells like, and the oil was still nice and warm from the drive home. So, no worries I guess. Just parranoia...

happy, some guys NEVER open the hood. you are just preventing something from getting to far out of hand. good on you.

I always get nervous/paranoid when I hear something. right now, I've got this ticking(at least I hear it, no one else does) that makes me worry about injectors, but no other symptoms. Drives me nuts just like it does you

if I check mine at the pump it shows level but if I check it in the morning without starting it reads a little high.

the owners manual says to start it warm it and then let it sit for 30 mins then check it.

I just figured the person who filled mine (Flat rate dealer mechanic) isn't going to wait 30mins to recheck the level and let it drain back to the pan.
He probably checked it showed low topped it off and shipped it!

time is money
