Injector #4 Died and Replaced
Injector #4 Died and Replaced
Had my #4 injector go out on me and thankfully the Cummins warranty was/is still good. Never thought that I'd see the day that my truck didn't have enough power to hardly move itself.
Anyways, it was replaced and it seems all good to go with under 61K miles. Anyone got any suggestions as to what I can do to take better care of the injectors and make 'em last as long as I can?
I like to run Lucas in about every other tank and when the temps drop a lot I generally grab the Diesel Kleen with the anti-gel.

I have a 2007 5.9 with a 5 micron in the stock canister and a 2 micron Glacier diesel filter. Your stock pump will run that set up JUST FINE. I see 10-11 PSI at idle and crusing on the stock pump. MOre than enough.
Further, as a side note...you may want to look into getting a spare #4 injector line as well. I (as well as many others) have had to replace that line where it tends to crack. Fairly cheap part (around $30)...but it's worth it when that easy fix left me stranded for 5 hours waiting on a tow.
FYI: I like the Diesel Kleen as well...

In all reality, this should have been a recall as much as you hear about it happening!
