Idle adjustment box
Idle adjustment box
I have a box on my 01' that I turn a **** to adjust the idle.
Does anybody know of one that someone has come up with for the 3rd gen?
I turn mine on remotely with my remote start remote and I have it set for 1100 rpm.

search for "High Idle" . Not sure if the '03's have this available in their computer, but on mine if you enable the "High Idle" feature in the computer then you can use your cruse control buttons on your steering wheel to raise the idle speed.
The computer will go into high idle on it's own if it's cold enough (colder than like 40 degrees).

I'm not talking about factory high idle. I'm talking about a box that was custom built by a forum member that allows you to idle up the truck anytime you want. I want to be able to kick it on remotely.
I don't think I've seen anything like that for the 3rd gen common rail.
From the factory they will high idle in cold temps automatically.
You can have the PTO idle feature enabled, but you have to ground a pin on the ECM if you have a stick, and turn cruise on and press set to manually set it on high idle.

I thought the 5.9 3rd gens still had the APPS like the 2nd gen VP44s did. If so, the same type of box that Brian made for your '01 should work, if anything the voltage might be slightly different.
You still have the big f'in chain in your truck?
