Thumbs down I drove a 325/600 today

Well I was not impressed, it was an automatic, they didn't have any 6 speeds on the lot. If I didn't know better I'd think someone just made up some numbers and attached it to the truck. When I stepped on it it was like, ok, you can get moving anytime now. The salesman which has always been a straight shooter with me asked me to come in and drive one and give him my opinion, his opinion was the same as mine. One the other hand the truck itself felt good and tight, steering was smooth, suspension was great when hitting bumps but that engine I did have the oppertunity to drive both an auto and 6 speed in the 305 hp 2004 and both trucks moved like a scalded cat.
Well I know a lot of people have ordered the new truck but my opionion right now is there are going to be a lot of unhappy customers out there.
I would like to say maybe it was just this one truck but like I stated, the salesman drove the new model and he drove more than one.
Just a couple of opinions and my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Anybody reading this post have one of the new rigs? Please jump in and tell I'm wrong

Well, I was gonna tell you that although these new trucks make lots of power that it still is a 7000 lb truck and probably not gonna win any drag races but then you said you had driven a 305 hp truck so you know how it should feel. My SO w/ Edge box should be making about the same power and it really comes on when your foot is to the floor. Otherwise, it just feels like a regular old diesel..

So do you think you drove a truck that was delivered with a defect?

Possible IMO - you felt the old HO and acknowledged that they ran well. I am wondering about the individual truck you drove since I've seen so many others who have driven both and were impressed by the power - a small but noticeable improvement over the already-impressive 305/555. It's not like anybody has any doubts about the ability of the Cummins to produce the stated numbers.

I'd like to think it was just that truck, but like I stated, the salesman had the same impression and he drove more than just that one truck.
I currently have a 96 5 speed with a light enhancement(banks power pack) when I had it dynod, which was a few years ago, it was near 300hp and 600ft torque and my impression, comparing mine to the new 325hp is mine would walk away from it like it was standing still.
Now the 305hp felt real close to mine with mine having a slight edge but considering the 305 I drove was strickly stock, HOLY SMOKE IT WAS IMPRESSIVE, I can't even imagine how that rig would be with one of those little boxes on it.
Well I really didn't buy my truck for quickness but it certainly makes it more fun to drive, I'm mainly concerned with towing and I haven't experienced towing with either of the new rigs. When I mentioned towing to the salesman he told me I was welcome to hook the truck up to my trailer and take it for a ride but I traded my travel trailer in for a 5th wheel just last month and needless to say these new trucks didn't come equiped with a 5th wheel hitch.

OH one more disturbing thing, the salesman told me his wife drove one of the new rigs to Utah, approx. 110miles, and she got 9 miles to a gallon. What's that all about?
The worse I ever got was 18 and that was when I was acting a fool and driving 80mph the entire way and it was pretty much uphill all the way.

Is this guy for real?

Sounds like the lady drove a Hemi up all mountains and got 9 mpg. Seems awfully fishy this thread. I know my buds 305/555 felt as strong as my truck with an auto. Either this is a troll thread or that truck was defective. I just don't see 325/600 being less impressive then 305/555.
