LOL that's why I posted it
I was hoping some of the guys that ordered and have taken delivery of the new truck would tell me different. I did read an article in TDR where the big three were tested, the dodge being the 325hp and the three were tested pulling a bobcat with a gooseneck setup. All three trucks were 6 speed duellys with 373s
weight was 13000 pounds and there was nothing but raves about the dodge during that test. They also put 5000 pounds in the bed and tested the automatics too but I believe the ram had 5500 pounds and an extra passenger onboard and those results were favorable.

This thread's gotta be B.S. When's the last time you heard a car salesman talk down about his product. Salesman will lie, cheat, and steal in order to get you behind the wheel. George, do you work for Chevy or Ford?

Neither, I drive a fire truck for a living and I'd agree with you in most cases about salesmen but like I said this guy has always been a straight shooter with me and I've known him since I bought my old 93 so if he's been doing any lying, I've never caught him at it.

When I ordered my truck, we briefly test-drove a 48RE right before we put the prder in. We both felt the auto was lazy compared to the 6-speed. Just my .02

Food for thought. I've got 3 friends that work at a dodge dealership and several times a week I stop in to hangout with them. Anyway every time I came in before I bought my 04 I'd go test drive something . I drove probably 10 different 03 HOs and all of them drove about the same except for 1 2500 H.O. 4wd and that one in particular drove like a raped ape. It had alot more seat of the pants acceleration than the rest , don't know why even my friends agreed. Oh they were all auotmatics. Just food for thought.

Well I'm glad we are hearing some positive things about the new rigs. The one I drove must have just been one of the sluggest ones. I talked to my salesman buddy this afternoon and he told me the same rig that he got for his wife was lacking power and he had some of the boys in Utah cut away part of his exhaust, the part with that huge new cat, now he says it's a running sob.
The only thing though, they just started smog testing diesels here in Oct.,and there is a visual inspection that goes along with it. It would be kind of a pain to keep putting that thing on for smog testing then taking it back off.

In order to get it approved in all 50 states I guess that was something they brought back. My 96 had a cat, it fell off when the 5" exhaust jumped on
