how would this truck treat me
how would this truck treat me
i am looking at an 04' quad cab, short bed, auto, 4x4, perfect condition inside and out, with 64k miles stock, never had a gooseneck, they are asking 17k is this decent.
I just gave same price for the truck in my sig, minus the mods. They started at high book on it, which was right at $21k. I offered $17k and was surprised they took it. Not exactly a smoking deal, but I'm happy with it. The dealer has to make a little money too, right?
At least that's what I tell myself. It was a one owner and never had a plate in the bed either. Had a Leer bed cap and spray in bed liner too. I think you're pretty close to a good price, but I'd offer less than what they're asking asking. Is it at a dealer? If so, be prepared to walk away. Most importantly, buying a truck sucks, but try and have fun with it.

dealers respond to customers walking away. takes the power away from the sales person, especially with the market the way it is. they don't like to let customers get away.

Yup. Even if you think it is a great deal, leave your cell or home number and ask them to make a better deal and walk away. The hardest part is walking away but once you do they will make you a better offer. I always try to plan it out so I can leave and just go grab some lunch and wait for the call
It has worked every time.

if i only could've waited six months they would've paid me to take my truck away. either way, if you have no trade in, right now is a great time to buy a truck.

sounds like it will be a great truck and the price isn't too bad. just remember don't let yourself get in the way of an even better deal. haggle all you can, and you will still leave plenty happy with your truck for an even better price.
