no ...once a ...., I never do except @ filter change

IF your 'water in fuel' light comes on, then you open it to let the water out

Tecnically you're suppsed to drain the filter bowel when you replace the filter and start with fresh fuel or (I've read) fuel supliment . Then put new fiter in! Not every fill up! What a pain in the a** that would be!

Ditto. I occaisionally remember it as I sit and drink beer on the couch, however, I have no inclination to put my beer down, walk all the way across the yard, and get diesel fuel on my floor. No water ever comes out of it anyway if you don't get your diesel fuel from Zed and Bubba's Antique Emporium.

Its been close to 2 years now, about 50k miles. Regular filter changes and trusted, high volume CVX stations.

I've done it once, when I changed my first filter at 4800 miles.

I did it probably 2 times when I first bought the truck. I had been around diesels but never owned one of my own until this truck. I followed the owners manual and then stopped. Now only during filter changes. I use Flying J fuel 99% of the time and they are a very high volume station so I am not too worried about bad fuel or water in it.

About once a month is adequate. I went about 3 months the last time and got about a quart of water/diesel (mostly water). I know it seems like a lot.

Doesn't the WIF light come on even if there is as little as an ounce of water?
