You would think that would be an easy question, but depending on API gravity, I found weights ranging from 6.9 to 7.3 lbs/gallon.

Thanks for the reply Rusty. That gives me good base line of where I am with the truck and aux fuel tank full, 135 gal X 7 lbs per gal = 945lbs. Nothing like an extra 900 lbs for the cummins to haul around.

Sorry to mis lead you if I did. I have a DEEZEE specialty series fuel tank/tool box combo. It holds 100 gallons, the tool box was about 14 inches deep until I modified it down to 10 inches to make it level with the bed as to not interfere with the fifth wheel. The other was in reference to the 30+ in the oem tank.

One of these days I will figure out the posting pictures thing so I can show you all.

It depends on temperature & gravity. The diesel off our pipeline has been running 54*
34 gravity wt 7lbs 4ounces to the gallon. Gravity drops to 32 & it will run 7.8 lbs to a gallon.

when i drove long haul i always figured it at 7.5. that way you will be save either way if you need to cross a scale. that covers all that rocket science temp/gravity/humidity/air density and so on.
