I do my own, I don't trust those guys at the oil change place, they always overtighten or strip out your drain plug

Rotella is $2.21 a quart at Costco when you buy the big box,I think it was 6 one gallon containers-boxes were buried last night.
How can I download a manual? What is the site and such?

I don't let those monkeys touch my truck, period. I do anything that I can possibly do myself.

No one takes care of your truck as you would.

I always do my own. It gives me a good excuse to check over the truck while I'm at it. IMO owners take more care when working on their vehicle then repair shops, as long as the owner has enough knowledge to perform the work...

Before you put the new filter on, fill it with oil so that the turbo does not have a dry start. After it fills to the top, wait a second, the oil goes back down. I usually put almost a quart in my filter.
I think i was wrong and you are right on the ratch size.

thats the only reason I dont like doing my own is trying to dispose of 3 gallons of oil. Mine doesnt fit the 7500 mile reccomendation and I dont pull enough to be wasting time and money at every 3750 so I do it around 5500 miles. In the summer I do it and in the winter I take it somewhere since I dont have a garage and am not going to be rolling around under the truck at 10 degrees

I heard that! I think tire shops put scratches and dings on rims just for the sport of it or because of envy!

I do mine. I have warranty on mine and I think my oil pan is leaking. I figured I would take it and let the hacks....I mean dealer fix it. Well, I just can't talk myself into it. Gonna have a local hose and gasket place make me a good gasket and do it myself, I trust myself not the dealer or some poor technician getting paid the least amount of time possible to do "quality" work on my truck and encouraging him to go as fast as possible. I'll let them do the simple, expensive part, replace my mult-function switch, the driver side mirror which has never locked in place.
