How hot does exhaust pipe get??

I am in the process of fabbing up a crossover box for my stacks. The question I have is how hot should I expect the pipes to get assuming max pyro temp pre turbo of 1300. I will have 4" pipe from turbo out to box, then 2 5" stacks off that. My crossover is 4" tall x 6" wide. There will be about 3" ofclearance between the fuel tank and the crossover box. Should I be concerned ? I was thinking bout a heat sheild to help some, but another concern I have is the paint on the bed. I assume you guys usually bolt these to the floor right ? does the paint, or spray liner get messed up? If all goes well I will have the 2 5" stacks in the bed and still be able to haul 4x8 sheets of whatever without the crossover bein in the way.

Well I know the exhaust tip on mine gets way too hot to touch, and mine is a full-length exhaust. I'd think stacks get well over 300F

I started the work on the stacks tonight. I cut one of the holes through the bed. I also did a quick check on the line x bed liner. I put a 150 watt spotlight directly on the line x to see what would happen. It smelled a little, but did not melt or get sticky. I think with a 1/2" space from the pipe it should be fine. When my stacks are done, you will only see the stacks and a 45 degree elbow on each side of the bed. the crossover will be hidden under the bed therefore allowing a 4x8 sheet of plywood to still fit in the bed.
