How do I reset engine Icon 2006 5.9

I disconected the engine mass flow sensor to remove the air cleaner for service . I forgot to hook it back up before I started the truck . So now the little engine Icon on the dash stays on, how do I reset it ? It will come on when the key is first turned on but when all other lights goes it it remains on.
Then like the manual says in about 15 sec it flashes 5 times but does not go
out when the engine starts . Can I reset it or will the dealer have to do it ?

You should probably post this in the 3rd gen section.

You can take it to Autozone or the like, they can clear it for you.

Or, it will reset in a certain number of starts.

Unhooking the batteries for about a hour did the trick . don,t know if thats the only way it can be done .
I know I read on here one time how to check the codes by doing something with the ignition switch but I couldn't find it . I was thinking that after reading them they could be cleared . Witch madhat Autozone could do with there reader that would have been my next stop . Thanks for the responce to my question just thought i'd let you know how I cleared it .
Also I learned today not to restart with any sensors unhooked because the warning lights are not going to reset on there
own .

You can only check your codes with the ignition.

No sweat, I did it a couple of weeks ago when I was checking out my turbo... but I have a smarty, and I cleared my own codes

Wonder if you can do that with a Bully Dog ? Like I said before this trk Is not mine I have a 01 . But my son who's in the Air Force left it with us while he's stationed in England . So I'm not up on all his stuff . I've got a Edge EZ on mine which has no controler .

Hope you mean MAP sensor and not a MAF.

Unhook the batteries or go to Vatozone for the code reset.
