Please help trans not going back to 1st

Drove my truck today and when I stop at a lite or stop sign it doesn't go to first it stays in 2nd what the he'll any thoughts I should have kept my dmax I've had this truck a hole month And already have problems

Sorry it's a 07 5.9 4x4 I know it's not in first that's for sure i punch it it just biulds rpms and slowly takes off after i get going everything seems to be ok and if I hold the brake and give it gas some times it will down shift to 1st I'm lost on this I'm a diesel tech I can take this engine apart and rebuild it in my sleep that why i bout it i should have just put the 5.9 in my 04 f-250 I don't know crap about transmissions

Are you coming to a complete stop? Sounds like it may be the governor pressure transducer or solenoid. Have you downshifted it via the stick to first while at a stop?

Yes stop all the way and I bought it used for 21k its a 4 door 4x4 short bed not bad it runs real good till yesterday when the trans started messing up it doesn't ride as good as my crew dmax or crew 6.0 leaker that I had and they both had 6" lifts and 35s but I wanted to try the cummins not good so far and the seats are crap idk know anyone that would like a nice truck after I fix the trans

Price out fixin the 48RE tranny vs the Allison and see what you think.. The solenoid is about $150 IIRC..

Can't compete with that nice soft caddy IFS of the Dmax. Solid front axles are like that.

Did you try any of the things I suggested? 1st is perty low and you don't stay in it long at all. Really have to pay attention.
