Thumbs up Holy Crap!!!

I got the truck back from the dealership a few days ago and have just been driving around babying her and driving like normal (Edge on 5 and Puck on 90hp setting...it lands me the best mileage I have noticed) all is well and no more blue smoke/rough idle on cold starts, etc...

Today I gunned her to get around this dude going 25 in a 55 and the truck picked up MUCH quicker than it did before going in for the injector work...apparently the truck was in need of them worse than I could tell it was because it honestly feels like a whole new animal again...I was surprised to say the least.

Two...#1 and #2, but all I thought that they were doing was slow leaking overnight...they must not have been PERFORMING either because the truck just feels a good deal stronger

Haha. That's funny. I had the same thing happen to me. Two injectors were bad. I had lower power, and bad fuel mileage (13 was the best I could get). After they replaced them I had my power back and was getting 18 to 20mpg again.

I was only at around 38K when they went...whether they went due to natural causes like some of the stock folks have issues with, or whether my Puck helped them on their way out is undetermined...but the truck feels great!

is there a test that someone can do to determine if the injectors are performing like they should. I have 150K miles on the truck and a long list of service items since the original owner was religous taking the truck to the dealership but i do not see any work with respect to the injectors.
If they can do a "test", how much does the test cost?

nvr-enuf,

I'm not aware of any testing outside of the dealer except for what these posters listed:

Bad Mileage and poor performance.

If yours is working well... drive on and enjoy !

I've got 50K on my 06 and all is well.

They can do an injector duty cycle test, but unless you're blowing blue smoke and idling rough and lacking power, you're probably good to go...even the duty cycle test doesn't always reveal any issues with them...like in my case, it didn't find a problem with my injectors, but every morning and afternoon after work I was idling bad and blowing smoke...leaky injectors do that, but most times won't show as faulty on a test

No, they were ok with them being on there surprisingly enough...gotta get lucky to find a dealer like that though. I was fully prepared for them to void my warranty and me have to start going aftermarket, but they didn't

Yessiry! Hey, this might be off topic, but have you ever noticed the black Duramax dually (looks like an '03 or '04) around our area? It's not heavily modded, but DOES blow a little black when he gets on it...but he fools around with me EVERY time that he sees me. We have met up out there on Prince William 3 times now and I blow him away EVERY time...kinda makes me wonder what is going on in that head of his to keep trying?
