Check here. Last time I checked, they were like $125. Pretty fast shipping too.

Tried and could not find a TPS on their site, but then again I just learned about Cut and Paste

The dodge dealer ordered one for me at $197.00

I guess the bigger exhasut will have to wait alittle bit now

Throttle Position Sensor
Cummins Part # 3621094

Looks like they are out of stock at reliable parts right now.

FWIW guy`s, i just got my first CTD about 3 weeks ago, I havent had much seat time due to some paperwork probs registering it BUT, the time I have had, namely the 3hour ride home from the seller`s house and about 40-50 miles kicking around by my house it had the typical OD prblems, i.e. kicking out for no reason on the hiway, and VERY sensitive to throttle input. I read and read and read just about every post on the net regarding this, this is what i ended up doing...and it has worked great so far. I ran new TPS wiring from the TPS sensor to the PCM, only the purple/white 5v reference wire and the orange/blue signal wire. I used some shielded cable from Radio Shack nad made up the new two wire harness and ran it down to the PCM. At the same time I verified and adjusted the TPS voltage to .70 volts closed throttle and so far it has worked perfectly...no more drop outs and it goes into OD at around 40-45mph. Hope the info helps, if need anymore info PM me and I`ll hapl ya all I can...being a total diesel newbie...gotta post a "new here" thread...someday.

Just lost my tranny. Traced the shifting problem to a bad ground from the motor to the body. Ran good for the next 2 weeks. Noise started, but had to drive to Vegas, on the way back lost 3rd and OD. Mucho noise

They have to remachine part of the case, replace part of the case, replace the planetaries and the OD unit.

When this is done, **** near the whole truck will be new. With only 160,000 on the motor.

Who is doing the work for you? I just had mine rebuilt by a nationwide transmission shop and mine went out a month and a half after they rebuilt it. I just got mine back for the second time on friday and if i had to do it all over again i would go to DTT and i will the next time unless it's within my 2 year warranty of course.

so upon some reading and research is it safe to say that if i run a wire spliced into the ornge/white wire from the trany to a switch in the cab then from the switch to ground that this switch will then controll my overdrive??

i will have to turn it on and off as needed i know.
but does the square push button on the dash stay on or off? am i just by passing the tps when routing this second switch?

thanks. jiMMy

Hell Jimmy, I can't answer that..... but just wanted to let you know that I saw your post No pirate salute over here

Anyway my tranny work is being done by our local Cottmans Transmission shop.

They are part of a national chain, which was attractive to me, we travel all over the nation putting on events.

Warranty is not as long as I would like, but I've already put on about 40k since January 04. I tow hard, so we should know pretty quick how the rebuild went

I have a question before you spend your $$$...... you said you had a reading of .51 VDC....yes??
Was this "at rest" or what???
The "book" is not always the best guide to use on some of this stuff.
Some trannies will work good using the "book" value's other's won't.
For example, if you have an "at rest" voltage at the connector of .51 VDC, then so far so good... what comes next is the quality of the voltage rise AND the total rise value.
As you open the throttle to WOT... you should have a nice smooth needle sweep, no jumps or twitching. It should rise anywere from 2.25 - 2.75 VDC over the "at rest" value.
As long as you have the value rise smoothly and final value falling into the above noted range the TPS is working properly.
If not then you have: A) bad wiring.... or .....B) bad TPS.

There was a post a while back regarding the switch. They tapped into the orange wire to the new switch. The switch must be a momentary type, not a constante source. A momentary signal is what will enable or disable the OD. You dont want constant ground to it.
