Re:Manual Overdrive engagement

Calvic,
I simply spliced a wire into the orange with green tracer wire coming out of the transmission, then ran the wire up into the cab along the parking brake cable and mounted (taped) a switch to my steering column. The other wire from the switch is spliced into the ground for the trailer controller (it was right there anyways) and away she went. Literally! ;D
Hope this helps.

this is the post i read. i know all the possibilities. what is a momentary switch?

The switch, when pressed provides a momentary ground pulse that activates/de-activates the OD. It is not a "constant on/off" type switch.
Hope that helps.

A momnentary swt you have to push and hold to stay activated. This is not what you want. You just want a regualar on/off swt.

For mine I used a floor mounred headlight dimmer swt. Its mounted on the left side up by the e-brake cable where its out of the way. I just tap it with my left foot and viola, OD. Don't have to avert my eyes or take my hands off of the wheel. Handy when you are racing.

I would reccommend installing an indicator light as well to remind to to turn it off when coming to a stop. I also hit the OD lockout swt when using it so I don't get confused by teh computer upshifting to OD.
