Angry Hole in Rad - 12 L 10 quarts missing

Guys, anyone have any problems with their rads getting pin holes in them. I was driving in a blizzard last week and looked at the temp gauge and it was at max safe. Stopped, well actually a snow drift stopped me. Checked the fluid and still some in the reservoir but red fluid was trickling out of the the bottom of the rad. Went to a strange DC dealer and he put in 12Litres of coolant. The idiot said he pressure tested it and it had no leaks and told me my cap must have popped and stuck open under pressure with air filter $220. Two days later the temp gauge is yo yoing and the fluid is down a litre in 600km and again it is trickling out. Took it to my regular dealer and voila a pin hole. $400 bucks to pull, fix, and put back in the rad and replace coolant. How mucking fuch coolant does this thing take...quantity 6 something at $112 plus taxes. Yikes!!!!

Cooling system capacity is 28L or 29.5Qt.

If you have the option to go somewhere other than the dealer for service then do it. i.e. if the work is not warranty work and if there is a shop nearby that can handle the work. Dealers have nothing to lose when they provide poor service and they over-charge for that poor service.

$620 to fix a radiator!!!. You must have had your "charge me more" hat on that day. Unless it is a last resort, or you have a unlimited bank account, don't take your truck to a dealer unless its under warranty.
