High pressure a/c line

Was on vacation when my A/C hose took a dump,of course it picked the hottest day to do so anyways, took it to a dealer and was told it was the high pressure line from the a/c pump to the condensor, not common they say so didn't have the part.It appeared that the idler pulley had been replaced and when doing so it may have got cut or the belt tracked off and sliced her.
Now I am home and would like to order the part but can't find a number for it?? or what part it really is?? Also will running it this way hurt anything? Or is their a check v/v/ preventing any harm? TIA.
Also, can one fix this himself? How much should this cost to fix?

I don't think it is fixable yourself unless you are replacing the line, but then you still have to charge the system. On my old dakota the line was cut by my tensioner pulley. From the dealer the only option was to replace the whole assembly so I took it to an AC repair shop and he fixed the broken line and charged the system for $50. That would probably be your best option since it requires special tools.

I just had my A/C system flushed and some things replaced. I believe that line is one piece (called the liquid line with the built-in orifice tube). I was thinking about changing everything out myself, but decided to have a shop do it. However, that line is available at Napa Auto (napaonline.com) for US$43. (enter your vehicle info, then search for liquid line)
