help-tranny problems on the road
1993 Dodge 5.9 Diesel
My 1993 Dodge 5.9 Diesel is having shifting problems , while driving the truck it shifts from overdrive to drive and at times it won`t shift back in to overdrive.
I have had it at several transmission shops, one shop said it was the cable that runs from the throttle to the transmission. I replaced it and it didn't help . The transmission shop said , whether it is electrical or cable or etc.
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong area of the forums first time user

Welcome!
Welcome to DTR. Since this isn't really an emergency I'd post it on the 1st generation forum. There are many members on the board who I'm sure will be willing to help. Good luck and have fun on DTR.
UPDATE: 11 days still haven't touched my truck, they said they were gonna drop the tranny out of it today but we'll see, transmission guy is on vacation this week, they said that it should be done next week, this is flat out ridiculous, I think its about time to look for another truck. Now accepting donations for my truck payment since this truck makes my money, I don't have any, oh yeah, $700 insurance payment too.
UPDATE: Had to pick my truck up today and take to a different dealer, the first dealer still hadn't even moved my truck from 12-19, so I had a few words with service manager and took it to a different dealer, they started on it today. This has been very frustrating, anyone got the DC complaint dept phone #, I think I should report this one.

Hey 93Dodge your problem is probaby the little wire harness to the THROTTLE SWITCH.the harness gets OLD and heat from fan/radiator blowing on it for years. When it won't shift wiggle the harness if it shifts order a harness if STILL available. If I remember correct less then $30.00 bucks. Is a COMMON problem with age! Also COULD be a throttle swtch issue but usually the harness.
