help, P0148 w/symptoms

Truck in sig has problem. Was pulling trailer and at anything over 30% throttle, truck would start to loose power and start to smoke. The check engine light would come on and would not go away. I turn off truck, clear the 0148 code, truck runs good. Happen the next day as well. Same thing. Sat night, it does it but doesnt go away. I dont have a pressure gauge just egts and the temps were still high, but it would not have power. Last night I had to limp it home and anything over 10% throttle, it would loose power. If i floor it while driving, it bucks and gets worse. Now, no more smoke.

I changed fuel filter and while running, i opened the yellow lever to drain any water and the stream was very tiny and barely shooting anything out. I open his, and his stream was shooting fast and was the width of the whole tube.

Is this the lift pump? What is this?

I took it to the dealer right before the five year warranty expired and they replaced all 6 injectors. This was 3 months ago.

Before you replace anything, try re-torqueing your injector tubes, had the same problem myself, and this fixed it. Costs nothing, so nothing to lose apart from a couple hours of your time.

It was the lift pump. Dealer said that the pump didnt even turn on when given power. I would think that there would be a code thrown for the pump.

Should have a P0168 code for that.

07 dodge 3500 with code p0148

i have a 07 3500 with a 5.9 i replaced the #5 injector because it had shorted. once i got it all back together i test drove it for about 10 minutes before a whining noise started to come from the engine area so i pulled codes and came up with p0148 after i pulled the code i ran a diagnostics on it and the fuel pressure regulator read at 0 so my question is could the fuel pressure regulator being bad cause the whining noise
