Sounds Like A Fuel Knock To Me. Maybe A Bad New Injector.
Edit You Didn't Drop Anything Down The Injector Holes Did You?

black brownish smoke... i just went out to see what i could do and i took the valve cover off checked all connections disconnected the chip (attitude) tryed and still knockin, so i disconnected the pressure rail sensor same thing i took the rail plug out and bingo... iam thinkin that was my problem i couldn`t even touch the PRV with my hand it was that hot now its cool like the rest of the lines and no more knocking...

i still don`t get it tho.. what happens when people plug them off and just go by reading the gauge...????? just drove it to the car wash and its like a brand new truck again...(for now)..

Where is the rail plug you took out? What's it for? I'm not sure if my truck has one.

Just did injectors on my truck yesterday. Re-torque your injector connector tubes and make sure they are seated to the injector. Make sure you replaced all the copper washers and didnt leave one in the hole. Its 40ft/lbs but it might take a hair more. Rail pressure gauges are great for diagnosing this. I put mine in didnt torque one connector tube down right and it would start but ran like a dog and smoked. I knew it was that because I couldn't get my RP over 10k.
