Some may LEAK but all the ones I"VE seen is a weepage/seep.Mine is a WEEP.Not going to pull all that apart for THAT.Clean the engine ONCE in a blue mine yu'd never know it WEEPED.Got friends with THE WEEP for 150k THEY never even noticed theirs doing it.Any one ever thought of doing a COLD RETORQUE which is easy to do.I will when I ever get around to going through the valve adjust one day OR ask them at the dealer to try that first. It would have to be there over night.

The retorque is futile if the gasket is rolled.
The gasket rolling out is usually which causes the leaks.

It doesnt take much to pull the valve cover.

I like the weep cause it gives a reason to pop the hood and play with something.

I told my dealer that if its not really a big deal we can wait and see what happens. HE said "OH NO i want that truck in here immediatley they ordered the gaskets and as soon as they come in MON. or TUES. they would get it in and do them." . whatever didn't really think it was a big deal but if they want to work on my truck more power to them.

With an 8mm socket.
I bet I have done it a hundred times or more.
How many times have you?

My point is that it is not that difficult.

Houndog,
Thats 5 minutes once you get past the valve cover.

You guys act like this is a big deal to change.

I have had 3 or 4 different turbos on my truck.
2 different exhausts, 2 or 3 clutches, and the front end off for a cam change.
2 valve adjusts, a damper change.

Oh yeah, I had a cast plug let go before christmas dumping coolant all over the road

Next up we are taking apart the front axle to get the locker in.
I have already replaced 6 U joints, and 4 ball joints.

I don't rely on the dealer to fix everything that comes my way.

Mine is weeping. I wash the engine ever so often so it's not a big deal. I'll fix it when adjusting the valves, someday.
