have you had this transmission problem?

here is the deal. when rolling down the road and slowing to a stop, at about 7 or 8 mph i feel two small "bumps " in the transmission, then after i stop it takes about 4 full seconds for the trasmission to go down into first gear, you can feel it bump when it goes into first.

If you start to drive off before it goes into first you will have no power, and then it will "hit " first and it will surge , so when i stop at a stop sign i get two small bumps, then i have to wait about 4 seconds after i stop before it will drop into first and i can start moving again.

I took it up to a transmission shop today, and the guy brought out the thing that gives the codes. It threw a code for the Accelerator Position Sensor, when i called the local dodge dealer they told me that that part might be under warranty but their was no way that that was the problem. The "tranny guy" told me that he was almost positive it was the "Governor Pressure Sensor", and not the A.C.P. He told me the G.P.S. would cost me about 475 to replace but he could not absolutely guarantee that that was the problem, but felt pretty sure it was, but admitted it could be the bands but not likely.

Has anyone else had these symptoms? Any help would be appreciated, money is very tight and i need to get this thing fixed the first time around?

Absolutely friggin' insane!!!!

The gov pressure sensor is a $50 part, that some darned expensive fluid he is gonna put in there.

Do yourself a favor, RUN don't walk to another shop. The Gov sensor and/or transducer can cause the exact symptoms you describe. Other things can also but do the easy cheap things first. Both the solenoid and transducer are $50 a piece at most decently priced places. If you are even halfway handy 1/2 in the driveway its done.

I wish that was a recall, but they tell me it is just a technical bulletin. I am thinking of trying to replace the governor pressure solenoid and transducer myself.
