Let me know if yall have had this problem.

So the truck died on the way down the highway. Now it will not start but will catch then just cut off. Cracked the fuel lines and I am getting good fuel, plus good fuel pressure readings. I am getting a p500 and 1693 code. Is this an indication of a bad Vp44? I just replaced it two years ago from industrial injection. I only had a couple of misses and then bang, nothing. I'm just hoping it's not the VP44, guess I'll have to wait until sometime this week to scan it. preciate it...

How much fuel do you have in the tank? not what the gauge says but how much fuel do you have because these trucks are known to have a faulty sending unit telling you that you have a half tank but really its as dry as a ducks back in a rain storm. Ask me how I know

Well checked it, and fuel is coming from the number 1 fuel line, but not the third. Can't get the 2nd off to check.

Also I replaced the filters, and fuel in them, and the truck started up fine, ran for abour ten minutes, I shut it off, tried about 20 minutes later and then nuthin.

p500, and p1693. I tried to read for anymore with a cheapo scanner but none came up. Since the 1693 is a companion code does that mean there is absolutely another code in there?

Update, if the engine is cold it cranks right up. Checked the codes while running and had a p1690. The truck will run fine for 5-10 minutes, then have some hiccups at idle. Tach works fine. It does have an edge, so I guess I'll check all the grounds, take the edge out of the loop, and see what happens. But that will be tomorrow. I have an extra truck to drive, so might as well check out all the cheaper stuff before the Vp44 gets replaced.

I can't see any kind of failure of the Edge box causing you to not get fuel to the #3 injector.

Cracking lines and not getting any fuel from some of them just screams "failed VP44" to me, but I freely admit I don't have any firsthand experience with troubleshooting or replacing these pumps.

Yeah I'm trying to wrap my brain around the no fuel to the number 3 cylinder. Sometimes it will have fuel and sometimes it won't. It's like the Vp44 is just a black hole of knowledge in the inside. I guess since I haven't opened one up myself, just replaced one, that I have no clue how it works.

Another question for the brains on the forums. Can I pretty much narrow it down to the IP or could the camshaft sensor be bad, even though I am not having tach issues? Since it is throwing a p1690 Fuel injection pump CKP sensor does not agree with ECM CKP sensor

Earlier I checked as many grounds and connections as I could, took the EZ out of the equation, CEL was still on, plugged it back up and CEL went off but still have the p1690 pending while running.
