Have a Question front end

Hey all,

I was wondering of the ones that have adjusted their caster towards the positive side how did you get those excentrics to move. I loosened mine up on drivers side with the wheel off ground and with a 18 inch breaker bar could not get it to budge. Does it just take putting it on a hoist and a BF bar? and input from those of you that has adjusted them. Thanks

When I did mine, I was able to loosen the nut on one side, and roll the eccentric with the bolt from the otherside. I didn't even jack the front end up. You might be rusted into place and a good dose of penetrant might help. You might also loosen up the nut and give it a good smack, side to side to break things loose. Good luck! My truck went down the road noticeably straighter.

adjustment

Thank you Artillery I just thought I was missing something. I will soak them. Just a note to others on death wobble. So far on mine I changed both outer tie rods ends and the one off the pitman arm on mine and so far No more wobble. And on two of the joints seemed tight untill I took it all apart. Found roughness in both and minor play. So for 180.00 I hope I fixed that.. As far as the other post to my question thats what happens at 50 mile an hour when a blazer hits you coming at you. Not pretty!

Why would you want positive caster? Doesn't that make the truck unstable?

After several posts on here I understand positive caster gives the truck more stability. I hope that is correct.

However you define + or - caster. Rotating the front diff pinion down adds caster and raising the front diff pinion up removes caster. Removing too much will make the truck wander, and possible DW issues. That's what I learned from my Jeep. A caster adjustment is usually needed after lifting.

Well I did install a 2.5 inch leveler in the front. So I do think an adjustment is needed. I will most likely take it to a shop in my area. I hope they know how much to adjust it. due to death wobble.
