have 04.5 2500 4x4 possible bad lift pump
Changed lift pump ran for a few minutes then quit is new pump bad or is it something else need help depend on this truck to get me to work all help appreciated greatly
pump on filter housing or in tank? put hose over drain tube on filter housing, put container with hose in container under truck, open filter drain valve on filter canister, turn switch on/off, does pump flow fuel into container? yes pump good /no bad pump, if pump good check single wire that crosses over a/c line on rear of compressor, underside front of engine, it has chaffed through before, causing exact symptoms, "I know" wiggle wire try starting, hope something helps,;;;;
Its in the tank I dropped tank to put the new one in some fuel comes from filter canister .I think its coming from a vacuum from the injector pump does that make since. It will pull enough fuel to crank it once in a while

Did you check the fuse? if you have retro-fit pump there will be a pig-tale fuse coming off the left side battery. Make sure relay is has power when you bump starter motor. SHould hear fuel pump run then time out after 15 seconds.
put horses back in front of cart,check for codes, switch on/off three times ending with switch in on position,don't start, any codes present, check wire at a/c compressor for chaffing, verify lift pump working, hose bucket, drain valve open, switch on , fuel present?

I found it it showed code 0069 which is map sensor and 0628 which is lift pump thank you for the info going to take the bed off so I can get to every thing so I can see if I got power to the pump
End results the fuel pump on 04 s are not in the fuel tank its behind fuel filter canister what's in the tank that looks like a fuel pump is the fuel gage even the plug works but 2 of the 4 wires are dummy wires if that makes since but the final Fix's was to put air dog system on solved the problem thanks to all who tried to help.
Dodge had a recall, they would install a lift pump in tank if ur filter mounted l/p went out before 100k,free of charge. most all trucks l believe from 03 -05 had the filter housing mounted lift pump, glad u found the problem;;;
