! The fuel filter on my truck was black at 6000 miles that seemed to help .

One of the first things I noticed with this 06 compared to my 04 was the lack of intake heater lamp after the engine has been run. The 04 would have to be hot for the light not to come on. This 06 I can drive it 5 miles let it sit outside at 20 degrees for an hour or better and when I go to start it no intake heater lamp. But it starts, so far. You guys mentioned it happens to you when it is warmer out. I have another month or longer before that happens around here.
I'm going to have to watch the volt guage and see if the heater is coming on with out the lamp, or what it is doing.
Point is, I'm wondering if they changed the calibration of the heater and if that is what is causing this problem. Maybe they felt the intake heater was coming on too much in the past? Just a thought.

My dealer didn't know, but everyone I know who has a G56 has this problem! I had them do "TSB 18-015-05 Revision A" dated 8/17/05. I found it in a issue of TDR. This seemed to help at first, but not anymore. It doesn't matter if it's turned off in or out of gear... I can't figure it out. I will say that I've never had it happen when it's cold. Here is a link to a thread I started https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=94257

I called the dealer today and asked him about it. He said they do the TSB and if it doesn't work they call Chrysler and try to find a fix. If enough people have it done and it doesn't work maybe a more perminent fix will ba available.
It's funny.....the gal I first talked to said she has seen this many times but....when she let me talk to the service manager he had "never" heard of it, hummmmm!

Yep, mine did it again yesterday for the first time in a good few months. Of course, yesterday was one of the warmest days in the past few months too. It's definitely a warmer than colder thing me thinks.
03 Dodge not Starting
i have a 03 dodge one ton dually. it has 110,000 miles on it and it started acting up on starting a few weeks ago. i can roll or pull start it just fine but it wont start with the key unless u have run it a while and quickly restart it. the dodge dealer says that the fuel pressure regulator went out causing damage to my injector pump and three injectors. my truck runs better that it ever has and i just dont see how it could be the pump or the injectors. anyway the dealer says it will take 4 grand to fix my truck. i have checked with all the diesel mechanics i can find and they all say the same thing. one guy i talked to says it is the crank censor. if any one has heard of this please let me know. i really dont want to pay 4 grand to fix this thing! i have been around deisels all my life and if there is a problem with the pump or the injectors it will not run smooth, or with out a power loss if it runs at all. they just havent convinced me that this is the problem yet. if you have any info that might help please let me know, my email is joebishop22@yahoo.com
thanks,
Joe

Mine will do it if I don't let the pump go for about a full 8 seconds before trying to crank. Don't pay any attention to the wait to start light going out b/c it goes out fast when its warm... go ahead and wait a full 8-10 seconds and see if it doesn't start normally. I've asked my worthless local dealer about and its normal to them just like the popping sounds coming from my clutch cylinder.
Mine does this too, i had mine reflashed due to white smoke on startup and horrible mileage (13 was a good day) and it has only done it once since then. Seems to definately helped, and mileage went way up!
