Hand Throttle Control
Hand Throttle Control
Any one given any thought to a hand throttle control that would attach to the foot feed under the dash.I have.Sure would be nice for the 6 speeds and 03s to be able to ramp up to a max of 1400/1500 rpm by pulling a **** out.Any thought.I'm trying to figure out how to attach safely with out causing any binding or sticking.Any thoughts.
I remember seeing a set-up like that for a Jeep. Do a search for jeep hand throttle and see if it comes up. It was a how to article on a hardcore 4X4 site. If memory serves, they used a bike shifter cable and friction type shifter lever (old 10 speed type) and attached the shifter to the stick and made a mount for the cable end on the engine itself. May be hard on a new engine with all the eletronics but if it worked it sure would be handy!
you talkin about tachin a little for take off? gotta use your foot on the brake and the gas at the same time, gets a bit tricky when ya have new workboots but I found that the only way to get it goin from a stop on a hill with my old bowtie gasser 5 spd
The only cable under the hood on a 6 speed goes to the pivot under the battery. If I'm not mistaken the auto does not have this. Its vacumn.NO not for creeping etc.but it would work for that.I want it for warmup, smooth out the ROUGH running cold start, leaving the dog or what not in it in the summer heat while grabbing a burger being able to ramp it to 1200/1400 rpm etc with ac running or in super cold not waiting for the auto 1000 rpm to kick in.Run a invertor etc.The foot feed and lower dash is not but about 16 inches or so apart. Its a straight shot.Adjust it so the MAX it can be pulled is 1400/1500 rpm.The 89s had one! A carb kick down cable with a slide kinda thing.
