Grrrrrr EMISSIONS!!!!! Help please

I live in Davidson Co. (Nashville, Tn.) and my truck has passed the last two years through emissions--BTW I think it's a total scam. This morning I pull into the emissions testing place and the first thing the lady says "is this a diesel?" I knew I might be in trouble with a question like that. I used to have a F350 with a straight pipe from directly from the engine and it passed! Again, my current truck has passed the last two years no problem.

Any ideas how to get successfully through the emissions gov. scam?! Any help is greatly appreciated--can you tell I'm not happy

Thanks for any help

I have no idea what the requirements are. How would I find out? That's just it, truck is bone stock and has never smoked. It idles and runs great.

Okay I'm a moron, I've got the print out the testing place gave me.

It says Opacity limit is 10 % and my truck read 12.1%

I know on gassers when we do e-tests, its always a good idea for a fresh oil change. it helps on older rigs with higher mileage. that just might get you passed with only 2.1% over on opacity

WOW! that sure seems like an awful high solution just to pass emissions.

well with an older truck and having over 200k miles on it, its naturally going to smoke just a scoche. 10%opacity on a diesel is retarded. maybe on the new ones since they don't smoke at all but a non emissions controlled truck having same requirements is just plane lunacy

Does wally world sell Valvoline blue? Wouldn't the fuel your burning be the main culprit in your exhaust output?

with 200k plus miles, the rings have a bit of wear and burning a bit of oil. just enough to have the 2.1% over max

not sure if wally world does valv blue
