got it done

Don't know if it has appeared before but i havent seen it yet. I heard about a tsb a month ago and if your truck qualifies you can get your flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, and depending on mechanic, even your throw out bearing changed for $100.00. On trucks with G56 trannys and dual mass flywheels, Pretty sure truck has to be under warranty. Something does exist because I just got it done. You have to approach them with the proper complaint (supposedly). I didn't have the proper complaint but got it done anyways. It took the service manager about an hour with me standing there waiting to find the tsb but he found something because after about 4 hours I paid the dealer $100.00 service charge (or what ever they call it) and drove my truck home with all the new items I mentioned before. I havent talked to the mechanic that worked on my truck yet so I don't know if they put in a straight flywheel or another dual mass or a upgraded dual mass flywheel.

I am very interested in this, do you know the tsb #, or what it pertains to? My clutch is going currently and I would like to be able to put it off for a while.

I would like to know the proper details to complain as well, while my clutch seems to be working ok, it certainly does not feel like any other clutch I've had in the past. The more miles I get on the truck, the funnier the clutch feels and works. I still have a warranty, under the 36K, so more than likely I would not even have the $100 charge. A couple times I have experienced what I would call a throw out bearing sticking or hanging up as I let the clutch out, but since I know little about these dual mass clutches, I could be experiencing something entirely different being the problem.

The proper complaint is hard to get in gear. The tsb that I think they worked on mine under (or what they kept mentioning was '06 models). Mine is a '05. The way it went down is all hard to explain. I told them that I had a vibration when pushing down the clutch particularly in 3rd and 4th. Could feel it in pedal and stick. Told them I thought i could feel it slip once in a while. The kid that works for me told them it was hard to get in reverse. Here's what my invoice says:
Engine Mechanical HOURS: 4.20 TECH(S) : 10520 WARRANTY
Customer States Vehicle Has Vibration While Driving
When Shifting Can Feel In Shifter/Hard To Get In Reverse
Found Flywheel Chattering And Clutch Worn Out
Installed Flywheel Clutch Kit And Bearings

Qty-----FP Number---------------Description-----------------Unit Price
1 52104721-AF Flywheel 9045001 Warranty
1 52104724-AD Clutch Kit 21010031 Warranty
8 6036096-AA Bolt Hex 21139233 " "
1 52087514 Bearing C 21005001

Anyway you get the idea. I'm sure every dealer is different. I told them I was a mechanic for twenty years and that when the cluth is vibrating it was a sure sign it was getting ready to let go. the mechanic for the dealer was convinced by the vibration in the pedal and stick. I told them that hard getting in reverse was intermittent and wasn't it wasnt a problem that day.
CD my truck is under warranty theyre always going to make you pay a little something
