Its probably no difficult task and I could probably figure it out but how does one advance the TTVA motor 1 tooth? I might have to give this a go and see what changes. Will this cause all the shift points to be higher or set any codes or cause any other side effects? Thanks for the good info.

You should only get codes if you turn the shaft the wrong way. It will slightly raise the shift points but nothing drastic.

Remove the TTVA
Remove lower cover - Metal cover that is clamped with metal tangs. Remove cover carefully so the gears do not fall out.
If you turn the shaft counterclockwise, looking at the actuator up side down, it can result in codes 1751 and 1754.
Adjusted the shaft one tooth CLOCKWISE.

Thumbs up

Since the TCM is in the ECU on our trucks it doesn't suffer from the problems the 2nd gens had where the charging system introduced noise between the ECM and PCM. The TC lock\unlock was simple to fix, eliminate the source of the noise and it was fixed. This is little more complicated because of the multiple computer controlled pressures with electro-mechanical devices and the realtively dumb algorithms for adjustment.

The TTVA motor and its lack of finesse is the source of the problem. Try advancing the motor 1 tooth and se what happens. That throws more TV pressure at light throttle into the system and tretches the shift point enough it isn't on the cusp of deciding what gear it wants, usually.

FYI, the APPS reset does nothing on the 3rd gen trucks. The APPS resets everytime the system is energized and the ECU is much better at remebering what the parameters were than the earlier models. Doesn't hurt, just doesn't do what it used to.

Great info explained - thank you

The one I put in help for a while but eventually the clutch material build up pluged the Billet one I had a deeper issue lurking inside.
