Gas in Tank

I accidently put about 2.5 gallons of unleaded in the tank today before I realized it. Tank was about half full of diesel. I then topped off with diesel. Seems to run fine, should I take further action?

Thanks.

Ashless 2 stroke motor oil will work also. But keep in mind you should also dump a bottle of Power Service or something to bring up the Cetane numbers

Anything. Tranny fluid has the same degerents and lubricants found in Diesel. So what the gasoline is missing can be replaced by adding tranny fluid. Also after you burn down tank change your fuel filter. The tranny fluid is going to clogg it a bit

I don't know about the 2 quarts of trans fluid clogging the fuel filter. I run 2 stroke and average around 7.5 gallons of it between filter changes.

Wow. Only 2.5 gallons? I locked the handle and jumped back in the truck. 8 gallons later I realized what I did, topped it off with diesel and drove home ( about 15 miles). I tried to siphon it out but gave up after about 10 or 11 gallons. I put power service in the tank and some marvel mystery oil and drove it. I changed the fuel filter twice in a short period of time just to be safe, but I honestly never noticed any diff i the way the truck ran, though I did take it easy on the throttle until I was sure the gas was out of the tank.

Wow, wonder if I should be worried.

I've been running a mix of WMO, WATF, and 2-stroke oils at about a 40-1 concentration for years in the first Gen and over a year in the '07. Fuel filters doing fine in both. The ones in the 1st Gen are over two years old, with more than 20k miles on them. Both trucks are running the same post-filter fuel pressures as the day they were installed.

Nah, I'm not really gonna worry 'bout that....

That happend to me at a gas station in bastrop, but I was nearly empty when I filled up. It was a diesel pump but they had put there gas in the diesel container, 10 miles later it was spittin and sputterin white smoke out the exhaust. Took it to the dealer they had to flush the whole fuel system. $640 later the sheriff and I went to the gas station and they covered the expense.

DO NOT use ATF4 it's a synthetic and not for diesel use.

ATF+4 uses a hydrocracked GroupIII base stock - technically NOT a synthetic.

Run it. Old trick in the winter to put 10% gasoline in #2 to thin it out and prevent waxing. You won't see and difference.

BTDT!

I put 16 gallons in an empty tank........but I realized it before I drove off. Took me four hours to siphon it out.........Filled it up with diesel and no issues.

Now I'm super observant about the pump I pull up to..........
