gas mileage help
How does running programmers(Edge, Bully Dog, Banks), specifically plug in modules, effect fuel milage. I have recently purchased an '03 2500 CTD w/ an Edge EZ module. It has 38000 miles(auto) and has been getting around 13 mpg. This is with the module set at the highest setting. If I turned the level of the module down should I expect increased mpg??
And if it's an auto use Tow/Haul when driving faster than 50mph.
Whats the reasoning behind that?
I've been running winter fuel for the last 2 weeks (-30 degrees out) and the other day i drove from home to college and got 22.8 MPG doing 70 so i was
pretty excited i have 15500 miles on it now.

Tyler_02,
Do you have a six speed or Auto? I would like to know how you can get such great MPG at 70 MPH on winter fuel being my truck is lighter then yours as I have a Short bed! The best I've gotten out of my 06 with Auto trans was 20.5 mpg (hand calulated) and that was with #2 LSD with PS and MMO in the tank last summer and driving no faster then 65 MPH on a flat Hwy. The best I have done on the Hwy with winter fuel at -10 to -15 below zero is 16 mpg with 8 oz of Lucas in the tank (hand calulated) with a tail wind. All I know is that the colder it gets below -15 below zero the lower my mpg will be, even if I have the truck plugged in for 4 or more hours to not have any warm up time to hurt mpg.
