engine code p0483

engine code p0483

I have a 03 ctd ho 24v. the check engine light came on and i pulled the code all it said was cooling fan speed. thats about all i know is that something to be concerned about i have had no trouble with the truck at all runs like a champ. Any thoughts on this? Thanks alot Kevin

I get this code during cold weather only. It hasnt been an issue. I have talked to a couple different dealers and they both said the same thing. There are many trucks that code this because of some sort problem when the computer doesnt recoginize the temperature correctly and the fan doesnt spin at the proper speed.

I never have a problem with overheating or anything. But I would still call your dealer and ask.

see mine started to over heat in stop and traffic when towing but onthe high way it was fine. so i pulled a code thats was it po483. you think may be there just starting to go bad?

Check the fan relays, you should have a spare on your relay box that you can swap it out with. I believe it's your Condenser coil fan, the defrost cycle kicks the AC on intermittently for moisture control. That's why it happens when it's cold out.

If I am wrong someone please chime in, as this was the problem with my 02.
