Question G56 vs the NV5600

We got a new technician at work and tonight I got on the freeway behind him. He has a 04.5 with NV. I stayed right on him and pushed. We hit 95 real quick, and I know 95 is redline on my 06. He kept walking away from me. Now, I don't think 3.55s were and option in 04.5 so that rules that out. My only guess is that the NV is longer legged in 6th. Is this correct? Both trucks are pretty much stock, tires as well.

I think the NV's are geared a little higher than ours but I don't know what the specific ratio is. Surely someone that does will chime in. I do know that your '06 and my '07 is a .79 ratio in 6th while the newer '7.5 and '08 have a .76 ratio.

Thanks! I just found the same info. It appears to be an 8% difference between the 2. That's why he kept walking away!

Yep, I have no problem bouncing off the speed limiter at 108mph.

What RPM is the NV5600 (with 4.10s) at when you're at max speed. I think I was at ~3000 rpm when I was at 80 mph... which was very briefly! What RPM is redline with the **** thing? I felt like the engine was about to blow up at 3000 RPM !

I don't really have an occasion to go 108MPH anyway... but what is RPM in the lower gears (redline) ?

I believe 3200 stock or close. 4.10s are gonna wind out quick, but pull hard. Many of us that hit 108 have 3.73s. I have hit 112mph with my 3.73s.

speedo was probably off at the end...I got my mph reading from my navigation, which is wired directly into the speedsensor.
