G56 vs 48RE with 4.10's have a few ?'s

Well I sold the truck in my sig a few months ago to my boss. Iv been looking at the new 06's and reading up on here but I am debating on either the 6spd or the auto with 4.10's

I know the 6spd has it's high's and lows and from what ive read geared real low. But how does it compare to the auto with 4.10's as far as RPM at freeway speeds say 65-70mph. If I rember correctly I was at about 2150rpm or so at 65-70 in my 05 with auto and 4.10's.

I plan on lifting my 06 4inches and throwing on some 35's and mabe a mild box so what would be best for that and still get somewhat decent MPG?

Also with the 6spd am Im going to be shifting 6 times to get to 45mph etc how short is it realy? I know if I throw on some 35's it will help with the shortness but how much so?

Can the auto or 6spd handel say 60hp box for a decent amount of miles or is the disc or TC gona self distruct?

Sorry for the long post

Thanks in advance ot all that respond

-Chris

To get you started, I run just under 1900 rpm's at 70 with the 48re, 4.10, and 315's.

How is the 6spd as far as shifting with the larger tires? I mean how quick are u having to shift from gear to gear every 10 feet or so etc. Reason I ask about the 6spd is I love a manual tranny but I dont want it to drive like the old fire engines I have driven that the US forest service still has ** shifting like every 3 feet in the first 3 gears. I Know the G56 will not drive like a car but I dont want to be like shifting a 18 wheeler with splits. That would get old in SOCAL traffic real quick.

I have an NV5600 with 3.55s and 315s, but you don't have to shift that much and you can skip gears

In normal driving I usally start in 2nd, shift into 3rd at 15-20 MPH and 4th and 25-30 MPH and 5th at 35-40 MPH and 6th at 50-55 MPH. This is pretty much babying it IMO. But you can do 60 in 4th on my truck at redline.

If I had 4.10s, I would probably shift at 5 MPH lower speed though.

But, 3rd and 4th are close. You can easily skip 4th IMO. Or 5th if you really get some speed in 4th. I don't skip very much, because I like the shifting, but IMO, you could.

I enjoy rowing through the gears. But I don't drive in bumper to bumper much. I drive mostly around town and enjoy it.

If you do bumper to bumper, it would get old, but other then that, the 6 speed is fine.

I was a little dissapointed with the G56 untill I put the 315's on. I usually start out in 2nd and before I'm through the intersection I'm shifting to 3rd. You could start out in 3rd if you want to slip a little. I can drive around town most of the time in 4th & 5th and idle in 6th down the street at 30mph. If most of your driving is down town from light to light you might not like it. However, for towing, down the hiway and off road I am really happy
