High points of the Blumenthal write up:

3-piece syncros used in all gears in the G56 only 1st and 2nd in the NV, internal shift rails are similar to heavy-duty Clark/Eaton or Spicer big rig trannys, all gear syncro hapens on the main shaft on the G56 which increases efficiency and decreases cost, G56 gears ride on needle roller bearings that use the shaft and gear as the inner and outer race which means the bearings are larger and better lubricated than the NV's pressed bearing sleeves,

Overall the G56 is well engineered, robust and is a "heavy duty truck" transmission.

Sure sounds like a better design than the NV5600 to me...

Yea they are mine are laying in the bottom of the pretty case to prove it you all amaze me none of you have a clue or know anything about either tranny but because you have one in your truck no matter how many of them fail you still think they are the best they have been out for a year and a half and there are already troubles. If any of you want to see the second g56 break go to scheids website and get the workstock finals dvd.

Wow, Someone sounds mad?

I would love either trans in my truck. The NV is proven, but they dont build it any longer. Check out the post with the guy that has been waiting for 5 weeks for another one!

The G56 is proven and is still being built. It has been installed in medium duty delivery type trucks for over 12 years overseas with no design changes. Do a serch for the G56 and you will find all sorts of neat info on it!

We have a completely stock 06 in the fleet and has roughly 95K on it. The transmission failed. The truck is frequently traveling across country loaded down with a 48' enclosed trailer. Again, all parts are stock. We discussed this with the local Chrysler/Dodge rep and they declined to replace the transmission under good will.

As Jack Nicholson said in A Few Good Men, "You can't HANDLE the Truth!"
Apparently his hatred of the G56 the has given him anger issues, delusional reality episodes, and recurring petulant ramblings...

Those over seas trucks you mention are like 175hp

Heck old fedex trucks has 4bt's that were like 145hp.

I guess the G56 is great for something that has no power right?

I promise, the lack of abuse to the trans from a powerful engine is MORE than made up for by the lack of shifting ability from the "fresh out of high school kid" driving it

Man, you're SLED PULLING. It has been COMPLETELY ESTABLISHED that the 5600 handles sled pulling much better than the g56. This does NOT mean that the g56 is junk. I pointed out that fallacy many pages ago in this thread. Nobody is saying the g56 is stronger for sledpulling, or that none have ever failed outside of sled pulling. All most are saying is that there's no rash of failures in anything REMOTELY resembling normal use. It's starting to sound like you're trying to kick a rash up out of dust, to manufacture one. It isn't there. You can point out a few failures here and there, that's true. That does not a rash of failures make.

Please give it a rest, stop insulting people (earlier post), and relax.
