every oil change at dealership is followed by 1200 miles of oil smell. When my free oil changes ran out I did them myself and low & behold no oil smell, go figure.

WOW! what info! I`ve been watching this forum for months now, and can`t thank all of you enough. It`s been fun bombing! Now, I too have smelled exhaust or something in the cab, from time to time. The worst is when driving in a crosswind. Last week I was driving to ND, and almost felt dizzy, like I could pass out. NOT GOOD! I did have the defrost on too. So today I started a search,(on 3 diff forums) and 3 hrs later I`m posting a thank you, I hope the cowl holes, and breather will fix my prob. I shall reply later, got work to do.

No problem with fumes. Maybe all the fresh air coming around the drivers door dilutes it.

I had Fumes in my 04.5 from about the 2nd week of ownership. Had it checked several times and was told it was the blow by tube. I said BS, finally after many nights laying under my truck looking and touching every thing I could finally found that the high pressure pump on the left side of motor was leaking fuel. Its a hard place to see. I could only feel under it and on my fingers was fuel. They said the pump was seperating at the seems and leaking. They replaced the pump and the smell is not as bad.

I had the smell coming into the cab whenever I stopped. The delaer installed a flap under the cowl. After that the smell was very faint - it was a huge improvement. Changed the oil to Mobil Delvac 1 5W40 and the smell was completely gone. Go figure.....

I have fumes in the cab for a day or so after I change the oil. I don't get any on my clothes and I wipe my hands off and I still get them. I also get fumes in the cab whenever I go over to my cousins house for chili dinner.
